The Mall Gulls

There are seagulls at the Mall. They hang out with the Canada Geese and the Mallard ducks down by the pond. In the summer, there is a fountain, but the pond is frozen now. I am trying to carry my camera with me everywhere as a photographer should, so I parked near the pond to shoot some gulls.

  1. The more I get back into birding after a 35-year absence, the more I like all the various shore birds here, including the gulls.

  2. Stunning pictures of the birds.

  5. I love your photos, especially the last one!

  6. These gulls look amazing in your photographs. I agree with the comment about them being “flying garbage rats”. They will find food anywhere. And they are so noisy! Your photos have brought out a good side of these very adaptable birds. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Great photos, they can be so hard to shoot at time.

  8. Wow! Amazing collection of photographs. Beautifully captured. Thanks for sharing these photographs. 🙂

  9. I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes photographing gulls! Beautiful shots!

  10. Your photos are amazing. Thanks for sharing.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  11. I just love how gulls add to the scenery! Your captions gave me a laugh; especially about the fries.. I have a friend who was in the Coast Guard who cringes whenever she see gulls. She calls them “Flying Garbage Rats”!!

You seem to be doing well bringing your camera with you. The photos are really good and creative. Looking forward to seeing more of your pix.

  12. These are wonderful photos, Maggie. I especially like that last one. A bird’s wings amaze me. Just look at the art, the beauty, the function. Mother Nature is a master at it all!

  13. I never knew how stunning a seagull could be. You captured it well. Those bright yellow eyes are just fascinating. You must be quick with that camera.

  14. I love watching the gulls soar through the air. These pictures are so beautiful! I also love Mallard ducks, but they are not seen much in my country. Beautiful post.

  15. Amazing photographs! You certainly captured their grace and beauty.

  16. Maggie
You do know that according to Richard Bach, sea gulls are designed to be the best flyers out of all the birds of the sea? Love your photos- well done!

  17. Maggie,
Gulls are so often overlooked. But they are great flyers and super practice models. Nicely done.
